The insurance is a compensation for lost quality of life, not for loss of income.
The compensation applies to you who have been injured while working for an employer during working hours. In order to be able to apply for compensation, you must have suffered a significant and lasting physical or mental injury or illness.
The injury or illness must be approved as an occupational injury or illness and is calculated according to how many percent medical disability the injury or illness has caused you. If your medical disability is less than 15 percent, you are not entitled to any compensation. To assess the extent of permanent medical disability caused by an injury or illness, NAV uses a disability table (Norwegian only).
In the table below, you can see the compensation amounts for selected ages and different degrees of disability. The compensation is a lump sum and is not taxable. First pick your age (alder) and then the percentage of disability (invalidegrad). All compensastions are i Norwegian Krone and are not taxable.
